Children learning through curriculum

The EYFS Framework

In Tinkertots, we believe that an excellent early education sets the stage for future learning. Our focus is on caring for each child individually, fostering their unique talents and abilities in a supportive environment. Our curriculum is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, used in early education across the UK.

It is carefully designed to help children transition smoothly to primary school. Activities are play-based, encouraging children to explore and learn at their own pace.

Communication and Language

COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE

Children's learning and competence in communicating, speaking and listening is constantly supported and extended.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

PERSONAL, SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

We provide children with experiences and support which will help them to develop a positive sense of themselves and of others, respect for others, social skills and a positive disposition to learn.

Physical Development

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

The physical development of children is encouraged through the provision of opportunities for them to be active and interactive and to improve their skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement.

Literacy

LITERACY

Children's learning and competence in beginning to read and write is constantly supported and extended. From age one, they explore books, rhymes, and mark-making. As they grow, they begin to recognize print, link sounds to letters, and use writing with purpose, building strong early literacy foundations.

Mathematics

MATHEMATICS

Children's understanding of numbers, patterns, and spatial thinking is nurtured through everyday play and exploration. They are introduced to shapes, quantities, space, and measures. Later on, they learn to count, compare amounts, recognize patterns, and use mathematical language in meaningful contexts.

Understanding the World

UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD

Children make sense of their surroundings by exploring people, communities, and the environment around them. They show curiosity about nature, familiar routines, and people they see every day. As they develop, they learn about different cultures, places, and the natural world through hands-on experiences, stories, and discussions that build awareness and respect for diversity.
